This conference is open to both ventilator users and their families, and to respiratory therapists (earn up to 7 CEUs) and other healthcare professionals interested in the benefits, equipment, and procedures of noninvasive ventilation (NIV). People with post-polio, ALS, SMA, Duchenne and other neuromuscular diseases who do not yet need to use a ventilator are invited to learn about NIV, to view the equipment and masks involved, and to speak with others who are using noninvasive ventilation. Because of its format, this conference provides a unique opportunity for clients and healthcare professionals to interact and discuss the practical aspects of providing and using ventilatory assistance. A limited number of individual respiratory assessments will be conducted, plus private conferences with Dr. Bach. The laptop ventilators (LTV™ series) from Pulmonetic Systems, Inc., and the HT50 from Newport Medical Instruments will be exhibited along with Advanced Respiratory’s “The Vest” other NIV and health-related products and services. |
